SkyMul’s SkyTy P3 prototype, first displayed at World of Concrete in 2020, has taken wings. Late in 2020, SkyMul engineers tested the automated rebar tying process using drones during indoor flight tests at the company's Atlanta, GA facility. During this initial flight and tie test, the SkyTy P3 secured #4 rebar on 6-ich centers on a 10 ft. x 10 ft. section that replicated actual job sites conditions.
The SkyTy P3 prototype features several refinements. Most importantly contractors can direct the tying operations with proprietary software. The SkyTy system upgrades have been supported from National Science Foundation SBIR grant.
The SkyMul team is ready to take the SkyTy into the field and is reviewing requests from contractors around the country. SkyMul can be contacted through their website: skymul.com
